For business owners and SMEs who want to govern growth with a realistic method and strategic vision

Support shaped around the reality of the business and proportionate to its objectives: from outsourced financial leadership to management control, from the business plan to business crisis.

“Having an accountant, a bank and a payroll adviser means having three separate views of the same business. My job is to provide the direction that is missing.”

Your company is growing but you feel you do not have the control you would like? Do you want to plan investments with more confidence, improve your relationship with the banks or face a strategic step with an experienced guide at your side?

Every company goes through different phases and needs. That is why I offer support shaped around the reality of the business and proportionate to the objectives to be reached. Not occasional advice, but outsourced financial leadership that joins the organisation as a continuous point of reference, taking charge of the finance function, the control system and the planning processes.

The objective is one: a more competitive business, with more control and better decision-making. To stop chasing the accounts and start steering them.

“A company without management control is like a car driven at night with the headlights off: it can keep moving, but it cannot see the obstacles and does not know how close it is to danger.”

An outsourced CFO is needed when the company grows, margins fall or decisions have to be grounded in data

How I work

How I can bring value to your business

Outsourced financial leadership

As an outsourced CFO I join the organisation as a stable finance function: I coordinate management control, budgeting, cash flow monitoring and management reporting. I support the business owner in strategic decisions, including the coordination of accountants, advisers and management.

It is the right service when the company is growing and complexity increases, when there is no in-house finance function, or when the financial reporting and management control system, profitability and relationships with the banks need to improve. The result is stable financial direction that raises the quality of decisions and the ability to plan growth over time.

Budgeting, reporting and management control

Improving profitability takes more than knowing your revenue: you need to understand which activities generate value, where costs concentrate and what margins each business line produces. My job is to set up a management control system that turns numbers into useful analytical tools, through budgeting, KPI monitoring, financial reporting, periodic management reporting and supervision of administrative and accounting processes.

It is the service for the company that is growing but still has no control system, when margins need to improve or when decisions must rest on reliable, up-to-date data. The result is constant performance monitoring, faster decisions and profitability that grows on solid foundations.

Financial planning and business plan

Good financial management does not just react to surprises: it anticipates them. That is why it is essential to plan cash flows and funding requirements, monitor liquidity, assess the sustainability of investments and build a solid relationship with banks and lenders. The business plan is the tool that turns objectives and strategies into a concrete, measurable path.

Starting from the company’s real situation, I draw up the business plan, develop financial planning over 1, 3 and 5 years, analyse profitability and support the business owner in the dialogue with the banking system, reducing the risk of decisions taken in an emergency. This service is particularly suited to start-ups and growing SMEs, to anyone who has to present a credible project to investors or lenders, and to business owners who want to make decisions based on data, not on gut feeling.

Support for extraordinary transactions and exit strategy

Every financial choice we make has a future dimension: how much will this company be worth in three years? Is it ready for new shareholders, for a generational handover, for a sale on the right terms? I accompany business owners in building value over time and in preparing for extraordinary transactions such as mergers, disposals and share reductions.

New shareholders, a reorganisation, an acquisition, a generational handover or the preparation of an exit strategy call for skills that go beyond ordinary management, and benefit from an independent assessment grounded in the company’s real numbers. In these phases I take charge of building the company’s value: I stand alongside the business owner with the analytical tools needed, considering not only the economic aspects but also the financial and organisational implications in the medium and long term. The result is a more attractive business, with a strategy designed to increase its value over time, whatever the objective: to grow, to sell or to pass it on to your children.

Advisory on business crisis and over-indebtedness

Debt is often just the visible part of a deeper problem: behind it may lie insufficient margins, unplanned investments, costs that have become unsustainable or the absence of real financial control. That is why negotiating a debt reduction is not enough: you need to understand whether the business is still sustainable and what changes are needed to reach a financial turnaround and make sure the situation does not recur.

Time is decisive: the earlier you act, the more alternatives are available; waiting means progressively narrowing your room for manoeuvre, until it is the creditors or the deadlines that dictate the choices. I work alongside SMEs in difficulty to reconstruct the real situation, identify the most suitable procedure and coordinate the legal professionals involved, with the aim of building a concrete path to recovery.

About

I am Alfredo Cerabino, outsourced CFO for SMEs

I started in tax and corporate advisory in an accountancy practice, then chose to go directly into companies with management responsibilities: staff to coordinate, suppliers and banks to negotiate with, budgets to deal with. From inside many organisations I have lived the same dynamics every business owner faces, and it is from this wider perspective that my method of strategic outsourced financial leadership was born.

Outsourced financial leadership for SMEs · value building and exit

Today I bring this dual technical and managerial expertise inside SMEs as an outsourced finance director, a continuous point of reference for management control, financial planning, strategic decisions, crisis management and building the company’s value. This experience across different fields allows me to step in both on growth paths and in situations of financial rebalancing and business restructuring.
